Week 13 May 22-24, 2007

This placement was a great decision and has helped me choose a possible career for myself. This career seems like it is full joy and happiness, it feels good to be helping students learn new things and you are helping the community when you teach. I think the only thing I would have to change to succeed in this career is that would have to learn not to be shy, from starting this CO-OP I have become more assertive and not so shy as before. The education that would be needed to get a job in this field would be that I would have to go to university for three or four years and get a degree and then I would have to get a teaching degree at a university in a one year program. People at my placement enjoy their chosen career because they feel good when they help the students and keep them safe. They feel like they are really making a big difference in these children lives. Also during recess they have to keep the children safe and they try to stop bullying in the playground. My supervisor has talked to me about a career in this field when I asked Mr. Hundt how he got in this career and why he chose it. I asked him what university he went to and what degree he got and where he got his teaching degree. Overall this entire week was great and enjoyable and I can’t believe this CO-OP is going to end so soon.
