Week 7 - April 10 - 13, 2007
Learning at the workplace is different than in school because at Holy Trinity I learn how to be a good, hard working student. At St. Andrew school I am learning how to be a teacher. I am learning how to mark/grade assignments and tests; I am learning how to deal with misbehaving and out of control students. Helping out Mr. Hundt and Mr. Tallevi is very interesting because I get to see their different teaching styles. I have seen how each of them deal with incomplete homework, not participating and misbehaving students. I really enjoyed learning about how to mark test and grade different assignments. I also have learned how the teachers keep track of the students’ grades and how the teachers come up with a final grade for each of the students. It is very interesting just sitting in the classroom and watching how all the students act. In very class you have the class clown, the smart ones, the annoying ones, the loud ones, but my favorite ones are the quiet ones. This week I also got to see what Mr. Tallevi did when we were unable to use the gym. He told the students that we were going outside for gym and that was final. On the way out there were some girls that refused to come outside until Mr. Tallevi discussed with them why they should participate in every class. Overall these last several weeks have been very interesting and I have learned a lot about many different things and what to do in certain situations.
