Week 5 - March 26 - 29, 2007

Good time management is important at my placement because the staff and students have to keep on schedule so that everyone can get into a certain habit. For example, with Mr. Tallevi's class on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon they have Religion first, Science second and gym last. The students also have to get prepared for High School were they will have to stay on a tight schedule and they will need better work habits than they currently have. These students also have to learn not to talk all the time, when the teacher is talking they should know to be quiet and not keep talking when they ask you to stop. Teamwork is important at my placement when the students are placed in groups and have to work together in order to get the task done. Also the staff must work together so the school can run smoothly and safe. I feet like a good team member when the other staff ask me to complete certain jobs, and I complete them properly and safely. For example, this one time when I arrived at the placement, no one knew I was there yet, so I decided to start marking the sheets I was given the previous day with out anyone having to ask. When Mr. Tallevi got up to the room he was happy and told me I had great Initiative.Overall this was a good week because I completed everything I was told to do, I was able to help some students during their class'. I also feel more and more welcomed everyday at my CO-OP placement.
